Step by step
- 1
Register as a job seeker at the autonomous employment service
Go to official siteFirst, register as a job seeker with the Aragon regional employment service. You can do this online in most regions. This registration generates the DARDE card which you need to apply for unemployment benefit.
!Expert tip
"Register on the same day as leaving your job or shortly after. The first contribution day lost is money not received."
- 2
Apply for unemployment benefit at SEPE (online recommended)
Go to official siteYou have 15 working days from ceasing work to apply for the benefit without losing days. Do it online on the SEPE e-portal, by phone (900 818 018, free), or in your SEPE office.
!Expert tip
"The online process is the fastest. Identify yourself with Cl@ve PIN (free) or digital certificate."
- 3
Attach employment certificate
SEPE needs the employment certificate to calculate your base salary. If the company hasn't given it, SEPE will request it directly. Don't wait — apply even if you don't have it yet.
!Expert tip
"Check that the employment certificate correctly reflects the reason for cessation (dismissal, end of contract, voluntary resignation...). The reason affects directly whether you are entitled to receive unemployment benefit."
- 4
Renew job demand monthly
Go to official siteOnce granted the benefit, you must renew your job demand (DARDE) monthly online or in your SEPE office. If not done, they may suspend the benefit.
!Expert tip
"Enable reminders in the SEPE app to avoid missing monthly renewals. The exact date depends on when you registered as a job seeker."
